Operation:
- Take ownership of the end-to-end bid process, from the expression of interest to contract award, supporting handover to the operational delivery teams
- Maintain document version control procedures and processes
- Carry out bid coordination duties including portal management, framework reviews and compliance and attainment of accreditations and memberships
- Analyse client/evaluator requirements and specifications in preparing and drafting materials
- Oversee delivery of compliant, professionally produced bids within client-defined timeframes
- Manage process and inputs from stakeholders, typically involving other work winning team members, fee-earning consultants and support functions, focusing on the timely delivery of compliant, compelling and client-focused bids
- Champion best practices in document management and version control
- Produce initial draft from precedent content for review and input by others
- Manage edits, iterations and creation of graphics
- Ensure adherence to branding guidelines and corporate visual identity
- Proofread and check documents for compliance ahead of submission
- Lead regular conference calls/meetings and undertake other duties in the absence of the Walters UK bids manager
- Typically educated to degree level – an English degree is desirable
- Project Management experience or qualification is desirable
- Proven experience in managing bids, ideally in civil engineering or construction
- Strong written English language skills
- Successful track record of winning and retaining work, including frameworks
- Strong time management/prioritisation skills
- Flexible approach to workload and working hours
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Bid Strategy and Tender Process
- Ability to deliver compliant, professionally produced bids and associated materials within client-defined timeframes
- Create and manage bid content and collateral including reports and databases within the Bid Library
- Portal management and support for accreditations, memberships
- Undertake detailed client, project and stakeholder research including social value requirements and gathering client feedback at the conclusion of projects
- For key bids, facilitate workshops with the team to develop strategy and knowledge share
- Have a broad awareness of contract conditions and terminology to lead liaison with the commercial teams, in particular, the NEC suite of contracts
- Ability and confidence in communicating and influencing at a senior level.
Content Generation
- Provide guidance and develop answer plans to ensure the strategy is embedded in the tender submission
- High level of competence in Microsoft and Adobe suites is desirable
- Ability to coordinate and review/edit input from a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to maintain adherence to company branding and corporate visual identity
- Excellent attention to detail.
Company Branding
- Support Group Marketing and Website content, campaigns, social media
- Support award submissions
- Develop content for case studies, internal communications and brochures.
