Last week, our Dyffryn Rhondda project hosted the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, Welsh Finance Secretary Mark Drakeford as well as Neath Port Talbot Council Leader Cllr Steve Hunt and Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Economic Growth Cllr Jeremy Hurley.
The visit was designed to promote the £143m funding provided to help protect Welsh communities from the risks posed by disused coal tips.
The funding was announced via a HM Treasury news article which included a quotation from Walters regional director Nick Rolfe alongside those from the Chancellor Rachel Reeves, Welsh Secretary Jo Stevens, and Welsh Government Finance Secretary Mark Drakeford:
The visit also featured widely on local and national news, including a 4 minute spot on BBC News Wales and various articles showing our team at work:
Our Dyffryn Rhondda project, being delivered on behalf of Neath Port Talbot Council, involves vital tip stabilisation works to protect the River Afan from landslip damage associated with the former Dyffryn Rhondda Colliery Tip. Further information on the project can be found here -

A huge well done to Viv Cole, Rhodri Jones, Joe Meeke, and the team on site for doing a great job making sure the visit went smoothly.
