From Placement to Part-Time: Lucas’s Start with Walters
This is the tab body content. It is typically best to keep this area short and to the point so it isn't too overwhelming.

Lucas Summons joined the Haverfordwest Footbridge and Western Quayside enhancement projects team for Pembrokeshire County Council, for a two-week on-site placement arranged by Cyfle, a local organisation that funds and facilitates industry experience for students.

Showing great enthusiasm and a strong willingness to learn, Lucas was offered a part-time role with Walters and now works two days a week while completing his Level 3 BTEC in Construction and the Built Environment at Pembrokeshire College.

During his placement, Lucas gained valuable insight into various aspects of a live construction site - spending time with our project manager Tom Morris, works manager Wayne Scott, and quantity surveyor Gruff Roberts, as well as visiting the bridge fabrication facility. "I’ve really enjoyed every part of working on a live construction site - from helping with on-site works to gaining insight into the commercial and management side of the industry."

Lucas has made a great start with the team, and we’re pleased to be supporting him through his journey.
