Twyi Valley Civil Engineering Placement
This is the tab body content. It is typically best to keep this area short and to the point so it isn't too overwhelming.

As part of our commitment to developing future talent, Walters recently welcomed Wil Hockenhull, a Cardiff University Civil Engineering student, for an eleven-week summer placement.

After completing his first year of study, Wil was eager to gain insight into the contracting side of civil engineering with hands-on experience with site surveying equipment. During his placement, Wil worked closely with our Site Engineering team, using a range of survey equipment to assist the team with setting out, quality control, and quality checks.

“The GPS systems were new to me, and I was surprised by how versatile the instruments are and how often they are used - from surveying and marking out to machine control. My time with Walters has reaffirmed my decision to pursue a career in Civil Engineering,” Wil said.

Wil made a fantastic contribution during his time with the team, showing enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn. We’re proud to have supported him in gaining valuable industry experience and wish him every success in his future studies and career.
