Project Outline:
Walters has been delivering works under the Somerset Structures Framework for over five years, providing both minor maintenance and major repair works across the county’s highway structures. Our work focuses on the upkeep and refurbishment of masonries, bridges, abutments, parapets, and other key structural assets. The framework enables Somerset County Council to maintain a safe, resilient, and reliable transport network, ensuring that essential infrastructure remains in service for local communities and road users.
Project Delivery:
Over the course of the framework, Walters has carried out a wide range of activities, from routine inspections and minor repairs to full structural refurbishments. Our teams specialise in masonry repairs, bridge repairs, concrete and steel maintenance, parapet replacements, and abutment strengthening works. Working across multiple sites, we apply robust temporary works, traffic management, and environmental controls to ensure safe delivery, minimise disruption, and protect sensitive surroundings. The combination of minor and major works allows us to proactively extend the service life of Somerset’s highway structures while addressing urgent repair needs efficiently.
