Walters, the largest specialist earthworks contractor in the UK has been nominated by New Civil Engineer for a prestigious award in recognition of its “Overarching Corporate Excellence”.
The “Company to Watch” award was created to recognise the efforts of companies who excel at investing in their future. It recognises diverse companies who have demonstrated a commitment to future engineers and technology. The nomination follows a thorough assessment of the company undertaken by New Civil Engineer that included independent employee surveys. The award sees us go head to head with some of the most prominent civil engineering contractors and consultants in the UK with the ceremony due to take place in May at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
NCE100 promotes five pillars of excellence that mark out an outstanding Civil Engineering practice. The pillars mirror closely with the Walters way of working that focuses on technical innovation and sustainable construction. Walters Director Kevin Llewellyn, commented on the nomination, “The “Walters Way” draws many parallels with the NCE100 “5 pillars of competence” that mark out an outstanding civil engineering company. Since undertaking their first major infrastructure earthworks project in 2001, the A43 Silverstone Bypass, Walters have steadily grown to become the UK”s leading provider of major infrastructure based earthworks. They have now worked on 28 major infrastructure projects in the UK, most of which were Early Contractor Involvement contracts whereby they input into the design, sequence and programme of the works at an early stage in the scheme’s development.
