Walters/Sisk Joint Venture awarded Certificate of Excellence from Considerate Constructors at Mountain Ash Cross Valley Link Site.
Sites will receive a Certificate of Excellence if they score 8 or more points in each of the five sections of the Monitor’s Site Report. This Certificate indicates a high level of excellence, beyond statutory requirements, in consideration of the neighbours, the workforce and the environment.
Construction sites, companies and suppliers voluntarily register with the Scheme and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements. The Considerate Constructors Scheme is concerned about any area of construction activity that may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry as a whole.

We are hugely proud of the site team and would like to thank them for all their commitment and dedication required to achieve such excellent and continuing high standards.”
The monitor’s Site Report highlighted the excellent communication strategy that the Walters-Sisk JV team have developed with the community and how the public and workforce are now better informed of the environmental achievements of the Joint Venture. The report also referred to the excellent approach to the health, safety and wellbeing of the public and that the workforce were excellently supported by the management structure in place.
The report summarised their findings with “Overall there continues to be an excellent standard being achieved on the site.”
The multi-million pound Cross Valley Link commenced in Summer of 2018 and will see a 60-metre road bridge built from Cwm Cynon Industrial Estate to Miskin Road which will provide a vital new link for traffic travelling between the A4059 and B4275. The project has been a long term-aspiration for the Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and residents. The Project will reach a significant milestone at the end of September 2019 as the main beams to the bridge deck are being lifted and placed . The bridge deck is then programmed to be complete by the end of 2019. The project is due for completion in the middle of 2020.
