Owen Jones awarded MICE from Institution of Civil Engineers
Owen Jones, Sub Agent at Walters, has been awarded membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
ICE membership (MICE) is a great achievement and gives you international recognition for your knowledge, ability and skills. Owen, who met with all the requirements of the ICE’s Membership Review, is now entitled to add the letters MICE to his name. MICE is seen as the premium qualification if you’re working as a civil engineer in a wide range of industry areas.
Owen obtained his Incorporated status with the Institution of Civil Engineers having started working towards it in 2013 when he signed up to the Graduate Programme with Walters.
Owen said: ” I am thrilled to become a Member of the ICE, it was always a career goal of mine to obtain this recognition from the Institution. I have had continued support from everyone in Walters and especially my two Supervising Engineers, Tim Whinney and Phil Whitney. I would like to thank everyone who has provided their time and knowledge whilst I progressed with my development objectives”.
Nick Rolfe FICE, Contracts Director at Walters, said : We are extremely proud that one of our Walters graduates has achieved this award as ICE’s professionally qualified grades of membership are internationally recognised and highly valued. We view this attainment as a significant achievement and a benchmark of an Owen’s competence and professional standing”.
Keith Jones CEng FICE, Director, ICE Wales Cymru said “As the world’s oldest qualifying body for Civil Engineers, the Institution demands a level of commitment and competence that goes beyond academic qualifications. We are looking for engineers who can make independent judgements and apply both core engineering principles and innovative ideas to continually produce best practise.
ICE Members show a commitment to health, safety, welfare, public interest and sustainability; they can be relied upon for their high standards, and rigorous code of conduct. I am delighted that Owen Jones MICE has met these standards”.
