Whilst we have vast experience in load and haul we are always seeking new opportunities where we can develop and add value. We have been able to achieve this with Aggregate Industries in Leicestershire. Since 2012 we have been their load and haul partner at two of their most important operations in the country and delivered in excess of 4 million tonnes of granite annually. We’ve formed a great partnership with our client and with our Contract Supervisory and Management Teams in place,  have enabled the smooth transfer of staff under TUPE. The contract has seen a substantial and ongoing investment in mobile plant.

The contract with Aggregate Industries involved a significant investment by Walters Plant with our partners at Caterpillar and Komatsu. Core equipment deployed being CAT 992 Loading Shovels, CAT 390 excavator, Komatsu PC1250 Excavator, 10 x CAT 775 / 777 Rigid Dump trucks and a variety of smaller, auxiliary equipment.

The equipment on site is fully utilised to deliver more than 4 million tonnes per annum of granite to the Client”s primary crushers on a continuous choke feed basis. Our site management teams are fully integrated with our Client”s Teams on the ground at both locations.

This contract also required the seamless transfer of existing employees from the previous incumbent contractor (under TUPE regulations) and the subsequent recruitment of further new employees from the local area.

The extension of the original 5 year contract for a further two years has confirmed both Aggregate Industries” and Walters” commitment to a fruitful partnership that has developed well since day one.
