Ammanford Scheme Officially Opens!
This is the tab body content. It is typically best to keep this area short and to the point so it isn't too overwhelming.

Walters were delighted to attend the official opening of the Ammanford Flood Risk Management Scheme last week on Thursday 12th September, alongside the First Minister Eluned Morgan, Deputy First Minister Huw Irranca-Davies , Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales and Arup.

The scheme aims to reduce the flood risk to Ammanford whilst providing a solution which benefits the natural environment and improves fish passage over the existing weir.

Walters provided hard and soft engineering solutions including 860m of reinforced concrete flood defence wall and 310m of earth retaining structures. The flood defences and ecological enhancements will protect nearly 350 residential properties, 40 businesses, the local college Coleg Sir Gar and critical infrastructure such as the train station.

The scheme has also been entered into two award categories at this year’s ICE Wales Cymru Project Awards.
