Walters have commenced demolition works for Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council at the former Taff Vale Shopping Centre in Pontypridd to enable an office-led development to take place. The 12 week long £370,000 demolition contract was secured through competitive tender, assessed on a price and quality basis.

RCT, with Welsh Government support provided via the Vibrant and Viable Places Regeneration Programme, is pushing forward redevelopment of the site regeneration following a previously stalled retail-led development in 2011.

The award follows a string of recent demolition contracts being awarded to Walters including works for Tata Steel in Port Talbot, Natural Resources Wales in Rudry, ABC Electrification in Newport and a large demolition, remediation and construction contract for Treforest Industrial Estate.
