Second scheme completed for Potters Waste Management at Granville Landfill site, Telford.

Walters have completed a second scheme for Potters Waste Management at the Granville Landfill site in Telford.  The scheme involved the construction of a new cell, surface water lagoon and earthworks reprofiling. Leachate pipework and a gas collection system were also installed to allow the capture and subsequent re-use of the methane generated by the decomposing landfill materials. The works were undertaken in an active landfill environment including full compliance with permit conditions and working immediately adjacent to ongoing landfilling operations. This scheme was undertaken during a difficult Covid 19 lockdown period but completed on budget and programme.

Owen Hill, Operations Director for Potters commented: “Again this project was well delivered by the Walters team in a very challenging climate, we were impressed with the way they delivered the scheme which came in ahead of programme and on budget.   Walters dealt with the impact of the Covid-19 crisis tremendously well, and were very proactive which enabled them to go on and deliver a high quality scheme for us.
