Walters are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the contract to demolish the former industrial buildings on a large site in desirable Pontcanna – close to the centre of Cardiff – known locally as Vaughans Laundry. Following the former site owners decision to sell up and retire, the land has been acquired by award-winning property company Portabella, who are proposing a residential led mixed-use scheme comprising houses, flats and commercial premises. Portabella have appointed Walters to demolish the structures in a controlled manner to make way for the new development. Walters Contracts Director Jim Webb commented: “We are delighted that Portabella chose Walters as their enabling works partner for the Vaughan Laundry redevelopment scheme.  The contract is another significant demolition win for the company in the region.”
