PROJECT OUTLINE

This challenge involved the demolition and site clearance of a 3 storey former residential home, situated near the centre of Cardiff and in extremely close proximity to residential properties. The works included the termination of all utility services, the removal of licensed and non-licensed asbestos containing materials, structural demolition, removal of slabs and foundations, fencing and landscaping.

PROJECT DELIVERY

Walters engaged the services of their (HSE licensed) asbestos removal supply chain partners, to remove all asbestos containing materials under controlled conditions, prior to commencing subsequent soft stripout and demolition works. The deconstruction of the 3 storey property was meticulously planned and executed in controlled phases, ensuring there was no risk of damage to neighbouring properties. Walters site team worked closely with Cardiff Council representatives, keeping local residents informed of progress (via newsletter updates) throughout the Works.

The Works were completed on time and to the Client”s budget. Cardiff Council Senior Project Manager, Tony Wadden, commented on our post completion Client Satisfaction Questionnaire:

”the Works were professionally managed and executed from start to finish.”
