Our people are our strength and we attribute much of our success to our dedicated, highly qualified and skilled team, many of whom have in excess of 25 years experience in the demolition industry.

We believe that investment in quality staff is key and we provide a comprehensive programme of training and development for all our employees. We believe that the level of training we provide is reflected in the quality of service we offer our Clients.

All our demolition operatives hold CCDO (Certificate of Competence of Demolition Operative) qualifications at the following levels:

  • Manager
  • Supervisor
  • Topman
  • Experienced Worker
  • Mattockman
  • Labourer

In addition to this, all our demolition operatives also hold CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) and our demolition plant operators are qualified in the relevant demolition category under CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme).

Our training is arranged through the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG) and is delivered either directly by them or through their approved training organisations.

All our demolition operatives have successfully undertaken the CSCS Demolition specific Health & Safety Touch Screen Test and hold current Demolition Safety Awareness and Asbestos Awareness qualifications.

Many of our operatives are also trained to work with certain types of non-licensed asbestos containing materials under the United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) Category B qualification.

Our workforce also includes operatives who are fully trained and qualified in a range of ancillary operations including:

  • PASMA trained in the erection of Tower Scaffolds
  • Oxy/Propane Gas Cutting (NDTG)
  • Working in Confined Spaced
  • Use of MEWPS (IPAF/CPCS)
  • Slinger / Signaller (CPCS)
  • Streetworks
  • Cable detection etc

This ensures that whatever the situation, we are able to quickly provide qualified directly employed staff to assist.

The Walters Group employ the services of a full time in-house Health and Safety Officer to ensure that our training needs are regularly reviewed and fully updated to ensure that our training is always of the highest possible standards.
