Operation:
- Lead on the commercial and contract management of regional projects and ensure delivery in line with the contract
- Preparation of accurate cost and value reports (CVR’s) with detailed end forecasts, working in conjunction with the Project Manager and/or Site Agent
- Develop and maintain the project risk and opportunity register
- Preparation and timely submission of Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract provisions
- Procurement and management of subcontractors and key suppliers
- Management of change including early warning’s and compensation event’s, both to the Client and to the supply chain as necessary
- Review and respond to project contractual matters
- Attendance and input at site team meetings
- Provide commercial advice to other departments as and when required
- Maintain a high level of communication and liaison with the project team to manage risk and mitigate delays and cost
- Provide mentoring and training as necessary to less experienced members of the project commercial team
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and other project stakeholders
- BSc (Hons) in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying or similar equivalent
- Member or Associate member of relevant professional body (RICS / CInstCES), or commitment to work towards

- A strong track record of success as a Contractors Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering industry
- An in-depth knowledge of the fundamental processes of commercial management within the civil engineering sector, i.e reliable cost and value forecasting, risk and opportunity management and change management
- An excellent working knowledge of the main standard forms of construction contract/subcontract – particularly NEC3/4
- Excellent interpersonal, communicative, listening, and negotiation skills
- Excellent oral and written skills including presentations and ability to negotiate with Employers/Clients, external stakeholders, and supply chain partners
- Engaging as a key member of the project team, sharing problems and combining to create solutions
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including the use of Microsoft Sharepoint / Teams
- Experience of project management software (i.e CEMAR or similar)
Other Qualities and Experience:
- Experience in the use of MS Project to read, understand and interpret project programmes and critical paths
